Battery was less than a year old and tested fine. Charging system also came back fine so they suggested the starter motor was faulty and needed replacing.. Really? Didn't check parasitic current draw or anything else but they could swap the starter out that day for $1200. Needless to say I took it elsewhere for another opinion and it turned out the alternator had an intermittent problem and was replaced. It's been good for over a month now. Sorry but the tech who looked at this is either incompetent or trying to gouge. I'd take your car elsewhere.

Oh, btw, I recently installed AA equal length mid-pipe Non resonator from this shop, the sound is perfect. Whoever wish to have a nice exhaust sound from a turbo engine, definitely need this active autowerke equal length mid-pipe. CG has a connection with active autowerke and they are specialist for AA products.

They did follow up offering free oil changes to makeup for it but just buyer beware for anyone coming here that they may do work on your car without consulting you, leaving you with a bill you were not prepared for. Again, staff was nice and did their best to makeup for it but still very odd practice.

Chris was unbelievably patient and really made it work for my budget, I felt really well taken care of on an individual basis. I had a small issue with the left blinker, which was my fault, so I called, brought it in and they fixed it the same day at no charge! Even if I was charged, I would never bring my vehicle anywhere else for service! CG motorsports for life! Moral of the story: the best service is priceless, even if it's free!

I have had a mixed, but in the end an expensively poor experience with CG Motorsports. They grossly overcharged for parts (as in 70% more than I could purchase the... read more same parts on my own). The work they did had to be re-done by another shop. Part of the Supersprint exhaust system they installed fell off. The Evolve airbox I provided them disintegrated internally, and the manufacturer said they had never seen a failure like this. I picked up my car and 500m from their shop I got a Check Engine Light after they said they had test driven it. If you have a regular daily driver BMW with no special needs, then they might be a decent shop. I brought my car in for performance upgrades they said they could do. They were not able to perform the upgrades, and I had to get most of the work redone. I have since found a reliable shop that does performance work and I will never go back to CG Motorsports again. UPDATE: In response to the owner Chris' comments, I did not just buy a random software tune "over the internet". I am not sure if this is an effort to make me look like I was buying low quality oddball parts. I purchased the tune from Epic Motorsports a respected BMW tuner who has been in business for many years. I told CG Motorsports where I bought the tune from when I was making arrangements to have the work done. There was no issue raised prior to doing the work. My parts did not just fail 12 months after installation, the check engine light came on 500m out of their shop, and when I took it back for servicing after a few billable hours they could not solve it. The implication that the exhaust parts I provided were used is inaccurate. The headers and pipes were brand new high end exhaust parts. The part that fell off about 4 months after the work was done was part of the installation that CG performed. None of those failures can be attributed to used parts or tracking the car with regularity. The airbox was definitely a used part. I provided an air filter servicing kit and asked that they service the air filter and assumed that when they removed it for servicing they would inspect the inside of the airbox. They did not service the air filter, and they returned the service kit back to me unused. I don't know how long the interior of the airbox was damaged, and I agree this cannot be clearly attributed to their installation. If you have a performance car you want work done on, I caution that I had a poor experience with CG Motorsports. If you are having regular service or maintenance done on your street driven car, I think they are probably fine.

The last person I spoke with was Mike, but the response is the same every time no matter who it is, "we'll have it emailed to you tomorrow for sure." Then zero updates and I have to call back a few days later for an update. Rinse and repeat. I wouldn't trust this place. If they're this incompetent at providing a quote for work to be done then I can only imagine how terrible they are at actually fixing cars and providing honest and accurate pricing for the work. Update: Finally got the quote and ended up doing some of the work needed. Was done in a timely matter and fairly close to the quoted cost. Happy with the actually work to the car so far. Will be doing more work and will provide another update.

Called CG as I was going to be in the area and needed to get an alignment done on my 03 325ci. Mark was able to find time the same... read more day and I promptly made an appointment for a couple of hours later. I was having some issues with the power steering and suspected that the previous owner had put in the wrong fluid type. They flushed the system and filled with the correct fluid and completed the alignment near perfect within 2 hours. They also installed a crush washer on the drain plug which was missing.
